Week 4 Reflection

Writing-This week for writing we got up to the bit when Charlotte writes some pig in her web. We had to write a newspaper article about it.

Reading-During Literacy with Miss Leigh this week we have been learning all about the weather. We had to answer the following questions about the weather. 

   

                 













Numeracy- For numeracy we have been using web paint and screen castify for my learning to record how we figured out the problems. I learnt that we could use tidy numbers to figure out and solve change unknown problems.   

Values

For the last couple weeks we have been doing a abcya word cloud on what our class mates have said about us.  Here is my finished word cloud!!   

Cross Country

This week at school we had Cross Country. It's not my favorite thing but,I try my best every year. Just as always syndicate 3 and 4 stomp our feet and clap we do it every year at big events like this. It took a long time for year 6 girls but to pass the time we and my friends talked as normal as the first couple of age groups went by everyone cheered for the kids that passed by to give them a big boost.
After all the age groups and year 5 boy and girls it was finally year 6 girls I was so scared I would come last my tummy started to twist and turn. All the year 6 girls lined up beside me I had Summer of the left and Jessica on my right I waited for the signal to go when I heard it I ran as fast as I could I was behind some of the other girls but in front of the others I ran up to the hurdles I jumped over all if them then through the gate pass some of the enthusiastic parents cheering us on ''GO GO GO'' we ran over the hill my heart pounding ''BANG BANG''   I had the stitch so badly it was hard to breathe. I keeped going and going I ran down the hill the stitch wasn't going to stop me I ran through the car park around the court and onto the field all the parents cheered I ran through the hoops and around to the goal post to get my mark then  keeped running a and running up to the hurdles I jumped over all of them I keeped running past some of the teachers the stitch got worst but Jessica B said ''come on you can do it'' so I ran in front of her but I got to the corner were Miss Leigh was she said ''come on Rikki you can do it''  I had to slow down but only for a while the Jessica catches up she keep saying ''come on'' so we ran I ran in front of her to the hoops and ran through all of them and keeped running but slowed down again  waited for Jessica but she didn't until I was almost around the corner but we ran up to Miss Power and Miss Hines ran under the goal post to,the desk that were placed in the middle of the field then got my place and we both came 9th place and to make it even better we came in the top ten. 

Week 1 Reflection

 TOPIC- For some Anzac day activity's we had to create a survival kit for a World War 1 soldier I did one on a google drawing.      

                                                                                                                                                                    
TOPIC- I did another Anzac activity we had to chose between In Flanders's  field  or We shall keep faith. I chose  In Flanders's  field.      

   

Writing - For writing we have been reading Charlotte's web and we had to describe Zuckerman's barn. 

In the big old barn there are many animals like me Wilbur I’m a happy little pig. I like the barn sometimes I feel like it's talking to me but in a slight scared voice.

The barn is an elephant and is smelly like miniature mostly because it’s in my Penn.    

Banqer - In Mamaku Hub we use something called banqer so they way we use it is so when we want to sit on the couch we have to pay money but to earn money we have to work hard and to lose money you have to get a warning or be silly and other related things.

Main star Week 1 Term 2

During the holidays we had Anzac day and for our main stars we have to research Anzac day and present our finding so I made a slide.  

Main Stars

This term I did some of my main stars so here is one that I did it took a long time.

This one is Easter in another country. I chose France.                                           

Camp Reflection

Camp

This week me and my class went on camp to Fox glacier my first favorite part was Lake  Mapourika . When we got there everyone saw the jetty and we ran on to it and looked around I wanted to jump in with my cloths on but I didn’t. I ran back to the car and put my togs on and ran to the teacher to get my cap. Everyone was on the jetty waiting for one of the parents to get in Ngaio was the first parent to get in. All the boys jumped in then most of the girls but I ran off the jetty to feel how cold the water was it was really cold but I thought to myself oh well and ran back and jumped in it was colder then when I put my hand in. I swam back to shore shaking but I got back on the jetty and I was just about to jump in but my awesome teacher Miss Panther asked if she could video me in slow mo and I said sure I thought maybe I can try to do and 3 - 60 but when I did it didn’t work as well as I planned when I got out of the water I watched the video it was so funny. But for little while I was a little sore but it was fun I keeped on swimming for another hour then we left for the next activity.   

 

My second favorite thing was the Kiwi house we had to wait there for a while for some other people but when we went in. We had line up outside this door the lady there opened the door as you walked through you had to put a band on so they knew you were meant to be there but as you walked in there was another lady with a cart full of stuff to explain to us about the kiwi but after she finished talking we were aloud to go have a look around. There were stairs you go up when you went down the other side the was a little machine that explained about the glacier but there were people on it but when my group was called up to go have a look at the kiwi I was so excited I love kiwi’s. As we walked into the room to look at them you could see one straight away it was so cute but once I got bored of looking at that one I looked at the other one you could barely see it but then we had to leave to let another group in it was great.   

My third favorite thing was playing spotlight at Fox glacier school the principal was very nice his name was Caspar he was nice enough to let us play spotlight. When we started to play we had  

100 seconds to hide I ran to the end of the field most people did. The same thing everyone was way to loud people were screaming across the field but I was quiet it was fun me and Felix hid in the same bush but when I heard Summer and Kash coming everyone went quiet but I moved to another bush then I was caught. Then Summer gave me the torch and said go to Miss Panther sit down and count to 100 so I did. Once I was done I ran to the end of the field and when I shone the torch at the bushes then I saw three people and yelled caught and told them to go to Miss Panther and then it went on for a while.

Those are my favorite things from camp.
