WK9 Reflection

This week for Literacy we have been working on Anzac. Which I think is a great task because I have learned about other animals that went to war such as Canaries and Mules. I am finding this task fun to work on and it gets your brain working! You will learn more about them on my Animals war task. I am finding this task fun to work on and it gets your brain working! 
   

For Maths we have been working on Converting Decimals to fractions + Vice Versa. 

I found this task fun and a bit easy but still next week we are going to have bit of a challenge because its going to be a bit harder. I can't wait!

  This week is very exciting because its the Grey Main School Family Fiesta! There is going to Cupcakes and they are going to Judged some of them are Amazing. I am also performing for Kapa Haka I'm so Excited.

Literacy Reflection T4 W8

This week we have being on Christmas related activities. One of the activities was 3 reasons why we should be on the Nice list.  I found this activity really fun. Here my task!

Do you know the song 12 days of Christmas? 

Well I do and we had recreate it without coping any of the words. 
I found it difficult at the beginning but coming to the end I got the hang of it.

This week because of the Earthquakes we have been working on a recount to tell the reader how we felt what happened. Our teacher gave us a challenge. We have use speech-marks correctly.

Literacy Week 5 Term 4

This week for writing we have been continuing with the topic Myths and Legends I have done 2 tasks this week.

For Word Work I chose to do Backward words. What you have to is chose some of your spelling words and write them backwards. I found this quite challenging but I gave it a go! 

Literacy Reflection WK4 T4

This week for writing we have been writing about Myths & Legends! For one of my tasks I had to draw my favorite mythical creature I drew an awesome Dragon.  I found this task very fun and my goal for next time is make the sentences longer and more descriptive.  We have also done compare and contrast. 

This week for reading we have been reading a book called 
"Class down the Congo." What we had to do was to find 4-5 words that we didn't know the meaning of. We have been using a website called Coggle!   

For word work I chose to do a super hero letter. We had to put our spelling words in a paragraph. I did my letter to Superman.

Literacy Reflection Week 9 Term 3

Reading 
For reading we have been working on fluency and how it changes our voice so kinda like speech marks for different character or something like that. It was easy but I found it difficult after. 
Writing 
For writing we have been writing about mummies I found out a lot of interesting things. I enjoyed looking at mummies it was hard and a bit gross but it get better.

Reading

This week for reading we have been doing and activity called  7 days Explanation and the topic was "Wisdom Teeth". I found it a bit hard at the beginning but then it go easier.

Writing 
This week we have been exploring many places around the world such as the Grand Canyon, Pyramids of Giza & Eiffel Tower. I chose the Kennedy Space Center in the USA. It was difficult to find facts but I found some here is my finished task. Here is the link for the site we used for the facts. Historical Sites. 
We have also been playing a educational game called Earth picker. How you play, well you have to discover were you are in world using google maps, using clue such as signs language. Then place the pin on the earth-picker map.

This week for writing we have been working on our explanation. We have been working on making them better and amazing. We looked at the rubric and looked at where we think we should be. I was Multistructural. Here is the picture.

Reading

For reading we have been working on explanations so we read a story called fish drive and we had to right 3 main points and a conclusion here is mine. We also had to read a page that had the most punctuation from our 30bc book here is my screen-cast.

We have been learning to use proper punctuation. We had to write some sentence's so we can prove that we knew how to use punctuation, and we also read a page from a book called "Pigs" with fluency.

For writing we have been learning how to use Fanboys. We have also been using Maori language  in our sentence's to make it more interesting.We made a slide with all the fanboys and we had to write a sentence with all the fanboys.

Week 8 Reflection

Writing-This week for Writing we had to do a activity called what starts a new paragraph. 
Here is the completed activity. And we also had to make our show not tell amazing. 
   

Reading- This week for reading we watched a video of Peter Rabbit and we had to do a review. Our WALT was to name the Literacy elements.




Numeracy- This week we had an activity when we had to complete some time tables. And a hint is if you know your 2x you can learn you 3x.


 

Word work- This is my word work for this week I did spelling rainbow. 
All you have to do is write your spelling words and go over it with colored pencils.

Writing-This week for writing we got up to the bit when Charlotte writes some pig in her web. We had to write a newspaper article about it.

Reading-During Literacy with Miss Leigh this week we have been learning all about the weather. We had to answer the following questions about the weather. 

   

                 













Numeracy- For numeracy we have been using web paint and screen castify for my learning to record how we figured out the problems. I learnt that we could use tidy numbers to figure out and solve change unknown problems.   

Week 1 Reflection

 TOPIC- For some Anzac day activity's we had to create a survival kit for a World War 1 soldier I did one on a google drawing.      

                                                                                                                                                                    
TOPIC- I did another Anzac activity we had to chose between In Flanders's  field  or We shall keep faith. I chose  In Flanders's  field.      

   

Writing - For writing we have been reading Charlotte's web and we had to describe Zuckerman's barn. 

In the big old barn there are many animals like me Wilbur I’m a happy little pig. I like the barn sometimes I feel like it's talking to me but in a slight scared voice.

The barn is an elephant and is smelly like miniature mostly because it’s in my Penn.    

Banqer - In Mamaku Hub we use something called banqer so they way we use it is so when we want to sit on the couch we have to pay money but to earn money we have to work hard and to lose money you have to get a warning or be silly and other related things.
