Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy. Down the path around the bend to find all of his friends. First down the street and around the bend is Bottomley potts covered in spots join him on his journey to find all of his friends, through the park and and pass the swings he finds Schnitzel Von Krumm with a very low tum. Down through town and toward the butcher is Bitzer Maloney, skinny and boney. Join them down to town past the school and past some shops is Hercules Morse,as big as a horse.
Past gates of a few other dogs is Muffin McLay like a bundle of hay. He found all his friend and walked the right way down to the dog park for a little play.

  1. Kia ora Rikki,

I like the way you have chosen to use the same characters in your own story as the one in the original book. Lynley Dodd is a very clever author the way she uses rhythm and rhyme to make her writing unique. It's a very catchy book isn't it? Have you read the story before?

On the activities page on the Summer Learning Journey website it asks you to complete the rest of the story with 8-10 new sentences to gain the full points. Maybe you can tell me more about what all the dogs do once Hairy Maclary rounds up all of his pals! Where do they all go in your story? What do they do there?

I'm so impressed with the way you have been powering through these activities! You're working so hard in your last part of the holidays to complete the Summer Learning Journey! I'm struggling to keep up with your hard work!

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Noho ora mai,

    Emiely :)
