Week 1 Post Letter on the Waka (Activity 2)

Letter on the Waka
For this activity I have to write a letter
if I was on a waka traveling from my original home to NZ.
Here's my letter.
That's my letter I hope you enjoyed it
(I added ink splatters to make it more realistic!)

  1. Hi Rikki-Lee,

My name's Ruby and I'm one of the people who will be blogging with you over summer.

You have done a good job with this letter. I really like how you have made the letter look like parchment. The ink splatters are really cool! I wonder if the original settlers use paper like this. Do you think you would be able to find an answer to that question?

I like what you said about worrying that the waka would fall over. I would be worried about that too because I'm not very good at swimming! Remember to use full stops in your writing. They will help your reader make sense of what you have to say.

Have you ever been on a boat yourself? I have been on boats a few times but I always have to get off quickly because I get sea sick easily!

I look forward to reading more of your blog.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.

    1. Hi Rikki-Lee,

How funny! I'm sure your cousin wouldn't have pushed you off! What sort of boat was it? I have been in a kayak quite a lot and sometimes I catch the ferry in Auckland but I haven't been on any other sorts of boats.

      Cheers,
      Ruby.

  3. Hi Rikki, Katelynn here!

This is a great detailed letter!

What types of boats have you been on?? I have been on a ferry!

What made you think of writing a letter with so much detail! It sounds amazing!
